The Hawthorne Legacy Review

The Hawthorne Legacy

Title: The Hawthorne Legacy, Book 2 of the Inheritance Games Trilogy

By: Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Rating: ★★★★

Genre: YA, Mystery

Spice: 🌶🌶

Finding out you were given money (a lot of money) by someone you never knew and finding out that your mother was the key. After being invested in the finding out why Avery was picked over everyone else, she uncovers two huge truths: Harry is the long lost Hawthorne and that Her mother knew Tobias Hawthorne.

Avery is left still with questions, questions about Tobias but also about her mother. And with the help of her new family they go on a mission to find Avery all the answers but also to find answers for themselves. This book takes us beyond the Hawthorne Manor as Avery goes to other properties that she owns and a distant place that only her mother knew of. Inside each place she finds more clues about herself, but also discovers clues about the others a swell.

First of all Hawthorne boys get what they want, protect those they care of and most importantly are good looking. (JK) Each of the boys go on a impending adventure with Avery as friends become family and enemies become allies. She will have to trust those she hates, those who tried to kill her and those whom betray her in order to solve the impending questions that are in her head. What does her mother and the Hawthorns have in common.

If you thought Avery couldn't be any better you are about to have your mouth drop. This character is full of surprises as she uncovers the hidden truths for everyone. Solving an old murder, solving the issues in one family and solving the issues of her heart.  Greyson or Jameson?

Okay let me be the one to say this: Both boys are great HOWEVER! Jameson  proved himself to me when he put the game behind him to let Avery find the answers she needed. That to me showed more about his character and how much more he cared for her than some game. Greyson lost a lot of points for me when the bomb went off and Avery was hurt. Natural instinct would have been for him to go to her, to help save her but instead he stood by and watched her slip unconscious.  Jameson covered Avery's body when he knew it was only fireworks and she was mortified, this shows to me that Jameson cares more than Greyson. Not saying Greyson doesn't care but i think he is too far gone in the past that he is letting it stop him from protecting Avery. And lets face it, Jameson brings out the side of Avery that she didn't even know was possible.

The end of Book two left me with many questions one in particular that maybe Avery knows how the game is going to end and that Tobias is leading her where she needs to take these boys. I can't say for certain but "The Final Gambit" is about to make all of our minds explode as we finish out this series. Are you ready?
