Title: The Inheritance Games

Rating: ★★★★
Genre: YA, Mystery
Spice: 🌶
Do you ever wonder what happens in life when your mothers past gives you a better life? This book takes you on the twist and turns with Avery, who was given an Inheritance to a fortune for a family she never met before. The old man however along with his four grandsons loved games and riddles and Avery is left as the unknown key. While figuring out pieces about why she is left everything she is also on a path of self discovery.
THIS BOOK IS WOW! The only reason she didn't get a 5-star rating is because there was a very small time where I got confused and lost. But she bounced back fast. This author for the very first page grabbed a strong hold on us to the point where putting the book down was little to impossible. The characters, as many as their are, each have their own unique personality and she knew how to incorporate each and every one of them into the story. We get to see them all interact as truths and lies are exploited, and the map of the game is out for the taking.
Avery is such a bold yet surreal characters. You see her confused, but curious as she figures out why she was given more and everything over his family. She lets real emotion flow into the character and we see Avery at her highest and her lowest as she discovers more and more about her past. We see her try to form connections and one connection (JAMENSON FREAKING HAWTHORNE) in particular has our hearts in a tight hold. BUT she has become to realize that there may be more than just one Hawthorn in her sight.
The special thing about this book is they are constantly reminding us of what we know, what we are thinking we know and what we are about to find out. Because of how many connections and clues that are in this riddle and solving it, it helped to be reminded of the details and helps us solve some of the clues.
This book leaves us with the biggest cliffhanger that made me instantly pick up the next book and continue the adventure. We find out... Why she is chosen..... Hawthorne's and their riddles.
