This book will destroy you. I say that in the best of ways. Emily Henry knows how to write and boy does she know how to hit home. Going into this book you instantly know a sense of yourself, something that is familiar and home. You will fall in love with each and every single character; from the minor ones to the ones that leave the most damage on your heart.

Harriet and Wyn are two characters who were engaged but at a friend reunion to celebrate a wedding of two friends they once engaged will have to announce the truth, only they don't in order to hide and not ruin the event. The pair makes a pact to push down their feelings and pretend to still be engaged, however the more time they spend together the more time they realize how much they missed one another.

First thing, this group of friends is the dream team. The once in a lifetime, every kind of friend you could ever want. Each personality is what I hope my friend group is like you.

Second; I want to squeeze and hug all of the wisdom out of Wyn's father, the man needs all the hugs and love he deserves. I was not prepared for his passing and when I realized that he had in fact passed there was a moment of silence in my heart where it screamed for him. Wyn's father believe it or not reminds me of my father, who is not afraid to share wisdom in the best of ways.

However i really relate and I think many others will too with Harriet's family, and they way their emotions are expressed. Not every family is open about their feelings and this story just embraced that so much that I felt so open with how I was feeling on the inside.

Finally the power couple, or not so much a couple. The two who are so different and yet I think they compliment one another in ways that a couple should. Both very much trying to make everyone happy but forgot the most important part of any relationship. Themselves. This book enhanced on that so much that when the realization of both characters hit, it was a happy realization for all.

If you are looking for a book that grabs you from the first page and takes you on a journey of self discovery. Romance and fun. The kind of book that will make you cry out of pure laughter and joy. Then "Happy Place" by Emily Henry is just that book for you.
